Fethard U10’s
Congratulations to the Fethard U’10 football team who won the Ned Meagher Cup last Saturday in Cloneen. It was a first win for this group, having been beaten in six finals over the last number of years. They had to do it the hard way though, overcoming Kilsheelan/ Kilcash in the first game, the first time they have been beaten this year, losing to Rosegreen to a last-minute goal and beating hosts St. Patrick’s in the third match. However, they saved the best for last, beating St. Patrick’s again by two points in a thrilling final. Great credit to all these young boys who fought so hard for each other to ensure this great victory.
Joint captains Joseph O’Flynn and Jack Quinlan received the cup on behalf of the team.
The full panel was:
Joseph O’Flynn, Jack Quinlan, Matt Coen, Charlie Hackett, James Barry, Alexi Laaksonen, Jake Coen, Mark Neville, Danny Hayes, Liam Kiely, Andrew Wall, Oisin Ryan, Andrew Connerton, Jack Davey, Charlie Walsh, Gavin Neville, Sami Laaksonen, Noah O’Flynn and Rory O’Mahony. Missing due to injury were David O’Donnell and Louis Ryan.
Well done to their mentors Paul Hayes, Sean Kiely, Paul Ryan and.John O’Flynn.
