County Intermediate Champions
Today Oct. 23rd Fethard Football made a statement as we were honoured and humbled to win the Intermediate County Final and win the right to compete in the Senior Championship next year. The team, a balance of experience and youth is in transition and will have to raise their game again, a task each and everyone involved in Fethard Gaa is both aware of and delighted to accept the challenge of.
Today’s win was hard won and the game itself was a tribute to both teams. Golden /Kilfeacle may have finished second today but they earned the greatest of respect with a fine performance and showed themselves a team of the future, competing in the intermediate championship for the first year after promotion from Junior A.
Having our Senior club triumphant and bringing home the silverware puts the icing on the cake as all throughout the year our Juveniles, ladies football and Camogie teams have just been brilliant.
Well Done to Cian Maher, a true Blue Fethard Footballer, each and everyone on the Team/ Panel and last but not least to the mentors and backroom support who gave of their all.
