Dear Parent/ Guardian, Student

On behalf of the Patrician Presentation Secondary School, Fethard and Scoil Ruain, Killenaule we formally invite you to attend a joint Community Awareness Forum which will take place on Wednesday, May 4th in Moyglass Community Complex. We feel that this will be a very worthwhile event for everyone in the local community of Fethard and Killenaule.

This is a local initiative driven and backed by our two schools, Coolmore, and many other local groups and support organisations. The main focus of the Forum  is the Health and Well Being of our young people as they grow and develop into valuable members of society. We want to ensure that they will mature safely and with the support they require, should they need it.

This is a launch of what we hope will be ongoing support, guidance and intervention for our community and young people. As parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends and teachers, we have a role to play in their development.

The first step is to attend this forum on May 4th, you will not regret doing so. Show your support and concern for your family, friends and community by your presence being noted on the night- not your absence. We feel your attendance at this meeting is vital. Buses will be organised from both communities so that transport will not be an issue if you do not drive.

Below is an outline of the programme for the evening. Stay tuned also to local Radio, Face Book and Twitter over the coming week  for more information on this event.

The five Guests will be seated on stage, and Fran Curry will carry out an informal discussion with them. The discussion will be frank but positive in relation to health, wellbeing and factors that influence our community and daily lives. This is not about pointing the finger of blame, it is about taking responsibility, and reaching out to others for help or to help.

We sincerely hope that you as parents of students in our schools will make every effort to be there and that you will also encourage others to attend.

Yours faithfully

Well Done to Ryan Walsh who had the privilege to Captain the U14 Divisional team in victory.

Our U14 Hurlers traveled to Borrisoleigh on Saturday last, April 16th to contest in the Peadar Cummins Inter-divisional hurling tournament. The lads had put in huge effort over the last number of weeks/months. We would like to thank Carrick Davins All Weather, Ballybacon Grange and Marlfield who were kind enough to leave us use their fields to train over the past few months.
The sun was shining and conditions were perfect for hurling with our first game against the mid with the final score: South 2g 2p Mid 5p. Our second Game we played against the North with the final score 3p North 6p and our final game was against the West who proved too strong for the South. The squad of players played their hearts out and gave it all. They showed great determination and dedication over the past number of months and should be very proud of themselves. They are a credit to themselves, their families and their clubs and we in the South Board are extremely proud of you all.
A big thank you to the management team who gave up their time, energy and were so dedication to the lads. The players have gained so much from their time with ye which is immense. Thanks to Brendan Ferris – Manager/Coach, Tadgh Howard – Selector, Joe Barret –Selector & Larry Molan-Selector.
The squad were: Enda O’Donnell St. Mary’s, Michael McGrath Ballingarry, Ryan Walsh Fethard (Captain), Tadgh Condon St. Mary’s, Christopher McDonagh Cahir, Ryan Walsh Carrick Swans, Darragh Ryan Ballingarry, Francie Delaney Cahir, Jack Hassett Killenaule, Darragh Brennan skeheenarinky, Cathal Deeley St. Mary’s, Josh Kennedy St. Mary’s, Kieran Lyons Ballingarry, Jamie Holloway Carrick Swans, David Barry St. Mary’s, Liam O’Neill Cahir, Aaron O’Sullivan Carrick Swans, Thomas Molan Cahir, Ben Doyle Ballybacon Grange, Sean Leahy St. Mary’s, Declan Hayes Ballingarry, Tristan Grant St. Mary’s, Eoin Wyse Ballybacon Grange, Corey Ryan Carrick Swans, Leon Kennedy Grangemockler, Aidan Waters Carrick Swans, Danny O’Callaghan Carrick Swans.
