FEILE
The three Fethard Juvenile Clubs are holding a cake sale and pop up café morning this Sunday15th in the Youth Centre from 11 to 1.30 to raise funds for Feile. This is a great opportunity for all to come out and support the local juveniles who have worked so hard to get to the national finals in June. I would appreciate any donations of cakes/buns etc. on the morning and come and support. It would be very much appreciated. Mick O’Mahony Fethard Juvenile Chairman
U12B South Final –v- Grangemockler-Ballyneale
On Tuesday 03.05.16 our U12’s played their South Final in Cloneen against Grangemockler-Ballyneale. Unfortunately we suffered our first defeat all season, losing out by a single point.
Final score
line was Grangemockler 3-1 to Fethard 2-3.
It was a tough, thrilling game with the boys giving it their all. This young team will no doubt build on that defeat and have great success in the future.
Panel:- In goal Daragh Spillane, backline of Jake Coen, Michael-James Phelan, Dara O’Meara, Michael O’Meara, Andrew Wall, midfielders Jack Quinlan and Conor Neville and forward line of Matt Coen, Shane Lawrence, Sean Moroney, Charlie Hackett and Mark Neville.
Selectors:- Michael Quinlan, Jimmy O’Meara, Martin Coen and Anthony Wall.
Many thanks to all the team for their massive commitment throughout the season, and their parents and families for bringing them to training and matches.
A big thank you also to everyone who travelled from near and far to the match and supported this up and coming young team, it was very much appreciated.
Joint community Awareness Forum
****Please Read Carefully****
19/04/2016
Dear Parent/ Guardian, Student
On behalf of the Patrician Presentation Secondary School, Fethard and Scoil Ruain, Killenaule we formally invite you to attend a joint Community Awareness Forum which will take place on Wednesday, May 4th in Moyglass Community Complex. We feel that this will be a very worthwhile event for everyone in the local community of Fethard and Killenaule.
This is a local initiative driven and backed by our two schools, Coolmore, and many other local groups and support organisations. The main focus of the Forum is the Health and Well Being of our young people as they grow and develop into valuable members of society. We want to ensure that they will mature safely and with the support they require, should they need it.
This is a launch of what we hope will be ongoing support, guidance and intervention for our community and young people. As parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends and teachers, we have a role to play in their development.
The first step is to attend this forum on May 4th, you will not regret doing so. Show your support and concern for your family, friends and community by your presence being noted on the night- not your absence. We feel your attendance at this meeting is vital. Buses will be organised from both communities so that transport will not be an issue if you do not drive.
Below is an outline of the programme for the evening. Stay tuned also to local Radio, Face Book and Twitter over the coming week for more information on this event. Continue reading

Thanks for the Memories
Maurice O Brien Drangan who went to his eternal reward in January 2016 having gave at least 20
years during the 80s & 90s and beyond a very keen follower of Fethard Gaa when he had a Butchers
Shop in Drangan, during those days he was driver, minder & keeper for Joe Ahearne and could be
seen at nearly every game his love of Football in particular was his keen interest and with a stop
here and there on the way back from matches was a done thing in those days not so much at
present ,the Club would like to thank Maurice for all his time devoted to Fethard Gaa he served on
Committees in the 80s and my vivid memory is the joy full time we had with him at the Fethard Gaa
Book Committee 1984 Meetings once a week for nearly the year with Mick Ahearne Author when
no one got away without a bit of stick in a very jovial manner ,he was a very Loyal supporter and I
remember on a few occasions he expressed his delight at the success of Brian Burke and his
appreciation of been able to see him play at all levels form Juvenile to Senior, To his wife Margaret
sons Richard & James we offer our deepest sympathies Go Ndeanai Dhia Trocaire Orthu
